National security involves both internal and external dimensions the management of which involves intelligence gathering, analyses, action plans and execution, the last of which is denominated by the use of force and violence of which the nation state enjoys unfettered, total, and complete monopoly, albeit within constitutionally defined legal boundaries.

They volunteered to put their lives on the line to serve and defend their country and protect the freedoms and liberties of their fellow citizens.
